Kiley Dean's New Album:
Beat Club/Interscope Records will release Kiley Deanís
debut album Simple Girl, this summer, and beginning this month, MTV will give
viewers a first look at the talented songwriter/performer when Kiley is featured
on "You Hear It First".
The gorgeous, blond, blue-eyed Dean co-wrote 10 out of 15 tracks of Simple Girl with Timbaland, Walter Milsap, and Big Bert with an additional writing contribution by Brandy. Dean first came to Timbalandís attention during her stint as a backup singer for Britney Spears.
"Make Me A Song", the first single from Simple Girl, is one of the most played tracks on radio, and the just completed video for the song features cameo performances from Timbaland and Brandy. This urban/pop track is a rhythmic and lyrical push and pull in which Kiley describes her journey to the studio to find the perfect melody and beat. Working with Timbaland (Missy Elliot, Brandy, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake), one of the most influential producers of R&B/hip hop, she sings "Make me a song like Rock the Boat, a song that you and Missy wrote." And Timbaland urges, "Okay, I think I got something for you." And he does.
Born in Alma, Arkansas (pop. 4,000), Kiley Dean moved onto Orlando where she was discovered singing in church by a vocal coach who landed her an audition that would change her life. Kiley aced the audition and hit the road as a backup singer for Britney Spears. It was on tour that Kiley met her manager who knew she had a gift and was destined to be more than just a backup singer. He introduced her to Timbaland who she immediately had an undeniable musical chemistry with and was signed to his own Beat Club Records. The rest is history in the making.
Kiley Dean was featured on MTVís You Hear It First this week (MTV2- June 3rd @ 9:30pm and 11:30pm, MTV- June 4th @ 4:30am, 6:30am, 8:30am, 11:30am, 3:30pm and 6:30pm) as well as in upcoming issues of Spin, Blender, Teen People, and more, starting in July.
